Can I use an iron with rub-on wax on my snowboard or should I get hot wax?

I have rub-on wax. I was going to use an iron to drip and iron it in before packing up my snowboard for the year. This is my first snowboard so I'm wondering if I can just use the rub-on wax I have to do this or if I should go out and get hot wax to iron on. Thanks!

Rub on wax doesn't have the proper chemical properties to withstand the heat, The chemicals will just split and it'll be useless. Just get some hotwax and drip it on and if you're looking to store it for the summer don't scrape off the excess wax.
