How is Pokemon Platinum different from Pokemon Emerald?
The last Pokemon game I have is Pokemon Emerald, and I am about to buy Pokemon Platinum, how different is Platinum from Emerald? What are the improvements?
Pokemon Platinum is the same with the main objective-Collect Gym Badges while training various Pokemon and defeating the Elite Four to become Champion, but it is not without it's differences.
Basic plot and game play is generally the same as Diamond and Pearl. However, it's main focus is not on the duo Dialga and Palkia, but on Giratina in it's Orgin Form and it's home, the Distortion World. Unlike Emerald, the landscape is 3D and Platinum uses the Touch Screen, since it's played on the Nintendo DS, and Emerald on GBA. You also no longer need the GBA Link Cable to trade-the Nintendo DS connects with others using Wi-Fi.
In Emerald we were reintroduced to animation of Pokemon sprites, and that is carried on into Platinum. In Platinum, the animation is taken a step further and special trainers are now animated (Like Gym Leaders). The Battle Frontier is also making a return, and there are new buildings to challenge, as well as different Frontier Brains. There are only 5 Brains, whereas Emerald has 7. The only buildings that are the same from Emerald is the Battle Factory and Battle Tower.
