How to insert new Sims card in my cell phone?

I just got a new card for my phone and I would like to know how to insert it. Do I have to turn off the phone and take the battery out? I don't want to mess up my phone. Please don't tell me to go to the Cingular store, that is not an option for me. Thanks!

Turn your phone off, take off your battery and you'll see where it goes. Put the battery back on than turn your phone back on. It may take a while to re-boot to the new sim card but it should work as long as the sim card is activated.
