Baseball Cards
What are the prices on my Topps baseball cards?
I have complete factory sets of Topps baseball cards from these years:
1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995.
I also have a box full of team allstar cards from '87, and a box full of about 800 cards ranging from '82 all the way up to '96.
So I was wondering if anyone could help me get some prices on these/ individual collectible cards within the sets. Thanks!
Go to
beckett.com
and look up the prices in their online price guide.
You could also buy a Beckett Monthly magazine at your local drug store or supermarket. It's well worth the five or six dollars you'll pay.
Good Luck!

A popular game worldwide especially in America, baseball is similar to the cricket game in England and lapta in Russia. The history of baseball remains unclear because it did not claim to originate from a specific country or contain specific date of reference. However, baseball has evolved over the years in terms of popularity and rules. Today, it is a recognized sport with many supporters from all over the world.
A more accepted theory states that baseball was based on an English game called rounders. Many of the features are similar to baseball including the use of bat and ball by contending teams, and the aim to strike the ball across level playing field. However, there is dissimilarity in the shape of the field. By the end of 18th century, different primitive versions of baseball were played in America. They were known by "townball", "base" and "stoolball". However, there were no recorded rules prior to 1845.
In 1845, the history of baseball took a turning point when Alexander Cartwright and the members of his New York Knickerbocker Base Ball Club formed the first rules for the modern game of baseball. Dubbed the Father of Baseball, Cartwright created a list of codes to be adhered by all baseball players. A year later, the first recorded baseball contest took place between Knickerbocker Base Ball Club of New York City and the New York Baseball Club. Since then, the game has been played more frequently and slowly gained popularity.
By 1957, the first organized baseball league took place and was participated by twenty five teams. At this point of time, baseball seemed to emerge as a promising sport. However, the baseball fever came to a halt during American Civil War but resumed with greater fervor after that. The sport has grown tremendously since then.
For the many fans out there, their hope is that the future of baseball and the birth of many more talented players will be able to match the colorful history of baseball. It is essentially a game like no other, bridging differences and unique in every way.
