Burst Copper pipe help?
Hey there guys..
Little something to ask about how much this is going to cost us..
About a month ago a 3 way fitting sprung a leak, but we were able to assist that by putting some magic tape on it and turning down the water pressure.
We believe this pipe froze and had burst slightly.
Today we go down stairs to check it out and another pipe had sprung a massive leak.
So we just turned off the main water completely and are calling a plumber, trying to get someone down here, but we are unsure of how much this is going to cost us.
The pipes are out in the open, nothing has to be dug up or ripped out... Just a T fitting and a 2 foot long copper pipe needs to be replaced/welded shut.
What do you guys think?
Several things. If there is a major freeze and the plumbers are busy, then they will not negotiate prices. This may be an easy fix or there may be much more involved. Drain down time is one of the main costs for a repair of this type. People try to tell the service tech that this should not cost more than $(fill in the blank). If they can quote you a price then they should do the job for you.
$150.00 and up.
P.S. I don't even get out of my truck for less than $100.00.
