Samurai Sword Cut
Is it true the lighter a samurai sword, the more elusive and dangerous?

I once heard about around 7 pound samurai swords were the most dangerous and where able to cut paper just before it touches. Is this true? And can you give me links because I want them and its been killing me for days since I cant get any info.

The Katana is an effective but very over-rated weapon. In the book " 1001 Samurai Duels" they list 17 duels fought between Portuguese Sailors and Samurai. The Portugues won each time.

A 7 pound katana would be useless. a crusader's broadsword only weighed about 4 pounds at max. A light blade would be great for fencing but in combat, it would snap like a twig.
