I want to become a Navy SEAL, how should I train for this?

I want to become a Navy SEAL, how should I train for this? What would be a good workout routine and is there anything I can do to mentally prepare myself?

Endurance is very important, more so than strength or speed. On the very first day, they will not hold back and ease you in. I think its like 30% quit in the first 6 hours. BUDs Training: You need to be able to do hundreds of push ups, sit ups, pull ups, squat thrusts, and whatever else. You need to be able to hold your breath for a long time, I think 5 minutes. They also have something called Hell Week when they push you non stop for 7 days with little food and drink and very very little sleep. SEALs don't train like any other branch. I think SEAL training is 6 months. At some point you have to run, I think its like 25 miles in a small period of time. Consistent neatness. Perfect beds, shiny shoes, no wrinkles in your clothes. Practice on making everything you do in your life to be as immaculate as possible. Get used to cold showers, hot sand, rolling around on hard ground, and anything else of the sort. You will be forced to poop and pee your pants and not be able to change for a whole day maybe more. Try to work up to benching around 300 lb. Of course practice shooting and any other expected military obstacle.

I had a friend in school who joined the SEALs and I thought he would be able t do it because he was fit and come from a military family, but he failed the first week. Try to use your non dominant hand more and run and work out til you bleed and blister. You can watch the BUDs training videos to get a small idea of what you will go through. Working under extreme pressure is also important.
