Is This A Japanese Legend Or A Movie?
I was looking at swords, because I'm a collector.... I came across this cane sword...

It looks really cool! It was supposedly used to Zatoichi, a blind swordsman?
I want to buy this weapon... But I'm weird about this sort of thing, so can you help me out?
I would buy it if it's a weapon based off of a Japanese legend but not if it was just from a movie. (Especially a movie I have never seen.)
Because, when I looked it up, a lot about the movie Zatoichi came up.
So... If this was a legend first I might wanna buy this weapon because it was based on Japanese history. But, if it was purely from a movie, I'll probably decline.
Does anyone know the answer to this?
I highly doubt that this was a legend first. The movie does not say that it is based on legend or true story, and most things you find about Zaitochi aren't exactly supporting the idea that it is based on a legend. Here is the real fact. Zaitochi is based on something a samurai or blacksmith would place the Katana in, usually because of the hilt, blade, or sheath having damage. It was placed in a separate area to keep it from sustaining any more damage. Basically, it looked like a blind man's cane or walking stick, but it wasn't meant for that. Soooooo, in other words, it isn't based on real facts... It is just a movie.
