XP vs Vista? Info needed?
I Have recently bought a Dell Vostro 1700 Laptop, 2.GHZ Core 2 Duo, 2GB ram.
It came pre installed with Vista, its the first time i have used it, and I do like it.
However, i have a feeling XP will be better for torrent use, reliability, and compatability.
Can anyone tell me if, with the specs i have, XP would run faster than Vista. I ask this because i know Vista requires more memory to opperate, but someone said it uses Dual Core better.
I mean with my ram and processer, would i notice an increase in performance because XP requires less of it to opperate.
I have also read, Vista somehow increase internet connection speed ever so slightly, and from my experience that seems to be tru.
On my friends laptop (xp) i was getting an average result of 11200Kbs on www.speedtest.net. On my new vista laptop, it seems to get an average of 11750-12000Kbs.
Finally, i have bought Kaspersky Internet Security on line. Will it let me install it again with the same serial key?
Your spec is absolutely fine for Vista so now you have it stay with it.
I doubt if it is legal to install KIS twice with the same key.

Do you use a spec? or any of your keens does use one? If not, then it is for sure people in your office or neighbours do use a spec. The answer is sure to be 'yes'. Then probably you know the disadvantages they are facing for using a spec. If you have no idea about disadvantages of specs then just ask them. You will be surprised to find the strange draw backs. Before this issue is clarified further, for a live test you better put on a specs with white glass. Put it on throughout the day and then the disadvantages will be evident to you. Probably, in no case the advantage and disadvantages could be judged by oneself so easily.
The disadvantages are of strange kind. If you run to catch a train or bus, then due to jerking of your own body two tings become vulnerable to loss. One is your mobile phone another is your specs. Be it in your pocket or put on by you. So, to relieve you from such problem contact lens arrived to the market. The first concept of contact lens was drawn by Italian artist and scientist Leonardo Da Vinci in 1508. Since then it has been modified and manufactured using several materials and the polymer based contact lens has arrived to market. You can do nearly all the daily work and play putting on the contact lens. It gives you rather a better view and convenience of not carrying a spec every time. So, you are free the anxiety of losing it.
The following are the relative advantages and disadvantages of using a spec and contact lens:-
* You always need to carry a spec either by putting it on or by keeping it in a box. But, you only put on contact lens and forget it.
* People often lose or break the glass of spec by dropping it accidentally. It is more common when rushing to catch train or bus. But, contact lens are set over the retina of your eye. So, there is less chance of dropping it accidentally.
* Specs are practically not only useless but dangerous during any body contact game like football, hockey, martial arts etc. There have been many incidents around the world that accidental breaking of frame and glass led to piercing it into the eye causing permanent damage and blindness to the man who put it on. But, among many world famous football stars the using of contact lens during game give them better view of the field. Many film stars also do use contact lens during shooting of movies either to give a different looks to them selves or to match themselves to any particular character.
* Specs are consisting of frame, glass, screws and joints. Often any of these may cause trouble by becoming lose fitted. In case of contact lens, these are only the glass to be set over the ratina. So, there is no such problematic issue.
