How do i join the British military as a American citizen?
I have already served the US Army in the 173rd Airborne as a infantryman for 3yrs with two combat tours. How would i go about joining the British military as a american citizen?
No. Under the eligibility rules, recruits can join the Army if they are Commonwealth citizens or have dual nationality, of which one half must be British, or are citizens of the Irish Republic.
The British Open started yesterday, Thursday, July 16, and at the beginning the one that looked as the favorite was Tom Watson with a round of 5-under 65. He was leading most part of the day, but very late in the afternoon Miguel Jimenez from Spain claimed the lead for a 64 with a 66-foot birdie in the final hole. However, Jimenez knew that Watson was the man of the day. Watson has a lot of hopes to win the British Open this year; he had won it before in five occasions and he was very pleased with the result from Thursday, moreover since he is becoming 60 next September.
He has been practicing very hard for the tournament and his performances during this practicing time had been very good. On the other hand, for Tiger Woods it was a though day for the starting round at the tournament; he finished with a 71 and in the position No.16 of the overall standings. He tried to overcome the situations that he had at the beginning when a disobedient driver took him to a very bad looking terrain, near a TV stand. He also sunk the ball into Wilson's Burn.
Not happy with his performance in the first part of the tournament, he headed back to practice on his swing, which looked very messy with his right hand hanging out. He looked very frustrated, specially when he stepped on the hole No. 3 and he took an angry breath and then threw his golf clubs away several times at the end of the day. aEoeI hit a 5-iron, I was trying to play about 20 feet left of the hole and the ball landed about 15 feet right of the hole. Not a very good shot". Woods said. "I certainly made a few mistakes out there. Hopefully, tomorrow I can play a little better." Even the 17-year-old Japanese, Ryo Ishikawa, overcame some difficulties and ended with a 68, ahead of Woods in the same group. The Japanese player said that it was very exciting for him to get to know Tiger Woods and even get to talk to him.
He expressed that he feels very nervous playing with Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood but he knows that he needs to play his best golf on a course that is completely different to what he is used to play in Japan. For his part, Ben Curtiss, who was the surprise when he won the Open in 2003, is also one of the favorites to win the tournament and he is very confident to win it this year. Curtis overcame a pair of bogeys with an eagle at the par-5 in seventh attempts and birdies on six holes for his last four attempts. He finished with a routine two-putt par at No. 18, walking off tied for the top spot. Just one round of the tournament has been played yet; we will have to wait and see who the lucky one would be to win the British Open this year, all of the players have experience aE" some of them more than others aE" but they all are really good. It will all depend on their performances on the following rounds.
